    因为哥哥的悲惨经历，父亲反对极具音乐天赋的Sorn继续学习音乐。不过天性反叛的Sorn偷偷地练习，直到爸爸发现并改变了初衷，Sorn正式的音乐课程得以开始。

    一次比赛中，Sorn被对手 Khun打败了。沉浸在痛苦中的他却突然有了一次对于人生的顿悟，这时他正好被皇家剧院邀请为首席乐手。这份职业给Sorn和Khun两人带来不同的变化。

    二次世界大战后，泰国政府实行“文化管制”的政策。Sorn身体力行维护传统，这无形中与政府的“西方化”相抵制。尽管他甚至与警察产生了正面的冲突，但是，在人民心中，他从来都是一个英雄。

    Ithisoontorn Vichailak started as a scriptwriter. He has been a director, producer, and a script writer for many successful TV programs. After Ithisoontorn Vichailak disappeared from the entertainment world for more than 10 years, he now returns with THE OVERTUNE, his second film.

    Synopsis:

    Sorn’s brother is beaten to death by rival musicians, the boy’s father confiscates Sorn’s instrument. Quietly defiant, Sorn surreptitiously practices in a deserted temple until dad relents, and the boy’s formal musical training begins.

    Sorn’s outclassed by rival musician Khun during a contest. Humbled in defeat, Sorn has a creative epiphany that coincides with an invitation to join the royal court of a prince as a top musician. Gig leads to a return match between Sorn and Khun.

    Thai government’s postwar law enforced “cultural control.” Sorn’s stand against the need for Westernization as a means to “civilization,” and his dedication to folk traditions, brings him into direct conflict with the police, while giving him hero status with everyone else.
